Points to Consider: Hebrews 10:27

Hebrews 10:27

“It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement.”

From a casual reading of the verse we are stunned by the implications of these words; after death comes the judgement;

In an almost backhanded manner, we are stunned by the implications of this verse; “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement.”

Note the seriousness of these words; no returns, no reincarnations, no escape; after death, the great evaluation of human life will end in the judgement.

Death happens but once in a person’s life. It only happens at the end of a person’s life. Which means we only get one chance at earthly life. We are not given the liberty to live and die and live again in this earthly life.

Death happens but once in this earthly life. What was not accomplished or completed while in this life will not be accomplished or completed in the life after death. That’s why it is most important for each of us to heed the words of the apostle Paul who said;

“Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” Hebrews 4:7
